DirectRooms.com reports that local artists from Agadir will be performing with some of the biggest names in world music as the city hosts a major festival to promote Amazigh culture.
PHUKET, THAILAND, June 02, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Timitar Festival will gather international artists along with the best native talent to perform for the 500,000 music fans that are set to attend. More than 40 artists are due to play and previous years have seen acts like Julian Marley, Youssou N'Door and Cheb Khaled play and this year promises to continue the tradition.
Contemporary music will combine with more traditional styles as the event aims to create a fusion of different genres. Hip hop, rap, pop and jazz are just some of the influences that can be heard and workshops will also run on veejaying and deejaying for people to hone their own musical skills.
The concerts will be held at three locations, all outside to add to the festival atmosphere, and these include Theatre de Verdure, Place Bijaouane and Place al Amar. The show in 2011 marks the eighth edition and is due to run from 22nd to 25th June and with large crowds heading to the city Agadir hotels are going to be quickly booking up.
