AsiaRooms.com - Kafka and I to be Performed in Bangkok
The Black Box Theatre in Bangkok will stage Kafka and I, which is inspired by the author's great novel The Metamorphosis.
BANGKOK, THAILAND, July 27, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The Repertoire 2011 season at Bangkok University's Black Box Theatre will feature a performance of Kafka and I.
Running from August 25th to September 11th 2011, the production asks what the role of the student is when society's social and educational systems appear to have deteriorated.
It is inspired by the Franz Kafka book The Metamorphosis, in which the German author imagines the consequences for a travelling salesman who wakes up one morning to discover he has turned into a giant insect.
The story, published in 1915, is widely regarded as one of the finest pieces of 20th century literature.
Evening performances of Kafka and I will take place from Thursday to Sunday at 18:00 local time, with matinees at 14:00 also available at the weekend.
Admission costs 200 baht (GBP4.15), although there are concessions for students. The venue is located on the Rangsit campus of the university.
The Black Box Theatre's Repertoire cycle of theatrical productions has been particularly edgy this year, with another show in the series being Hedwig and the Angry Inch, which is about a transsexual rock singer and his band.
AsiaRooms.com offers a huge variety of Bangkok hotels that may appeal to theatre-goers, such as The Twin Towers Hotel.
