AsiaRooms.com - Thailand Visitors to Enjoy Fisherman's Village Festival
The Fisherman's Village Festival runs for five days in one of Koh Samui's most picturesque neighbourhoods.

KOH SAMUI, THAILAND, August 02, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The annual Fisherman's Village Festival is a popular occasion on the Thai holiday island of Koh Samui.

Running from August 22nd to August 26th each year, this colourful event is based on live music, good food and plenty of fun activities.

The Fisherman's Village is located at Bophut Beach and is known for maintaining a distinctly Mediterranean atmosphere, which harks back to the area's former status as the main French outpost on the island.

In contrast to busier spots such as Chaweng Beach, it is one of the most well-preserved places on Koh Samui and boasts rows of old wooden shop-houses once presided over by Chinese merchants.

During the five-day festival, the area is transformed into a vibrant party zone where local rock bands and artists from across Thailand perform.

Temporary food tents are set up to offer visitors a range of delicious and inexpensive cuisine, with many local hotels using the event as an opportunity to showcase the talents of their chefs.

The festival is free to attend and offers a chance for holidaymakers to experience an authentic quarter of Koh Samui.

AsiaRooms offers a diverse selection of Thailand hotels for travellers visiting the island, including the Natural Wing Health Spa and Resort.
