The world's top beach volleyball players will be coming to Thailand for the Phuket Thailand Open this November.

PHUKET, THAILAND, September 20, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Sports lovers will be able to see some world-class beach volleyball at the Phuket Thailand Open later this year.

Taking place on Karon beach between November 1st and 6th 2011, the PTT-sponsored tournament represents the final round of the FIVB Beach Volleyball Swatch World Tour, which has been ongoing throughout the year.

A total of 32 countries - including Great Britain - have already confirmed their participation in the contest, with 17 of the world's top 20 teams to be in attendance.

Competition is to set to be particularly fierce this year as players seek to prove their mettle ahead of the 2012 Olympic Games in London.

Admission to see the Phuket Thailand Open is free, with matches to start at 09:00 local time each day, while the finals on November 6th begin instead at 15:00.

Supporting the main event will be a large sponsor activity zone, which will include a beer garden, various company booths and a variety of games and contests for beach volleyball fans.

It is expected that more than 15,000 spectators will turn up to watch, with millions more seeing the action on TV worldwide.
