The annual Raja Muda Selangor International Regatta will be returning to the Kuala Lumpur area in November 2011.

KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA, September 30, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Visitors to the Kuala Lumpur area in November 2011 will be able to take in the sights and sounds of the Raja Muda Selangor International Regatta.
 
The prestigious sailing event is returning for its 22nd edition between November 18th and 26th, with three overnight passage races set to be organised by the local Royal Selangor Yacht Club.
 
Spectators can expect to see a wide variety of different yacht types, from high-end IRC1 racers to slow classic cruisers, all of which will be pushed to the limits during the nine-day tropical race event.
 
Racers will travel from Port Klang in the Kuala Lumpur area through to Penang and Langkawi, with the event set to provide a test of seamanship, navigational skills and local knowledge.
 
The regatta has evolved considerably since it was inaugurated in 1990 as a two-race competition, with the Sultan of Selangor now acting as its official patron, meeting and greeting competing sailors each year.
 
Meanwhile, those onshore during the event can enjoy social opportunities such as regatta dinners, harbour racing and trishaw competitions.
