The Eatery Seeking to Crown DFW Chicken and Dumpling Eating Champ in October
Champion Eater Gets Free Dumplings for the Rest of 2011

HALTOM CITY, TX, September 22, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- The Eatery's "To Die For" chicken and dumplings won the 2011 Denim and Diamonds People's Choice award after diners picked the rich, made-from-scratch food as their favorite. Co-owners Don and Cindy Gifford are not only serving up a bottomless bowl of their chicken and dumplings for $6 in October - a $2 savings -- they're going to crown a champion dumpling eater and award him or her the ultimate prize.

"So far, four is the most bowls anyone has been able to eat at one sitting," said Cindy. "We top our dumplings with some heavy cream and rich, real butter, and they are not for the faint-of-heart."

The Eatery is going to be watching how many bowls of chicken and dumplings their customers eat. Every time someone manages to set a new record, his or her name will go up on the board.

"At the end of the month, we will crown a dumpling champion who will get free dumplings for the rest of 2011," Cindy said. "Our chicken and dumplings are 'to die for.' I'll put my dumplings up against anybody's. Our dumplings are straight from scratch."
